Back in December, Google launched its URL shortening service as part of Google toolbar and feedburner. The service was then integrated into other services such as Picas,News, Blogger and moderator. Up until now there was no direct way of using the shortening service but now Google has come up with its own website, http://goo.gl/, which is up and running now and looks very promising.
While making the announcement on its official blog, Google said it doesn’t want the service to be overloaded and is trying to make is as secure, fast and easy to use as possible.

Goo.gl user interface is quite simple
The interface is pretty simple, all you need to do is to paste your long URL and it outputs the shortened version instantly. It also has the functionality of storing the link history and allows the user to track the number of clicks from any URL previously shortened using the goo.gl service.
