We all have friends that post offensive, annoying or abu
sive comments and sadly Facebook doesn’t allow you to “dislike” a comment or any other stuff. All you can do is block/hide that person from your feed which is obviously not a good solution. There is a vast majority of users that want Facebook to implement a “Dislike” button to allow them to show their disapproval but unfortunately for those users it is highly unlikely that facebook will ever add such a button.
Well, we just found out the next best thing to an actual “Dislike” button,the Facebook Dislike Firefox plugin. After you install the plugin you will notice a “Dislike” button on every item on your news feed placed in between the “Like” and “Similar posts” button. As per our current observation your friends will only be able to see that you have disliked a post if they have the plugin installed too which is bit of a problem at the moment as there have only been 1200 downloads of this plugin and not a lot of users are aware of this yet. We expect this number to grow massively in the coming days and weeks keeping in view the recently growing demand of such a button by the users.

The plugin is working perfectly and you can it download it here. Just make sure not to misuse it or you might get your friend list cut short and you certainly don’t want that. Do you think it would be be a good addition to facebook if they make it official ? We are looking forward to your response.

That's the whole point here isn't it ?If Facebook wanted it on their website they would have added it long time ago.
Kinda silly. I understand why people want this, but Facebook will never add something that makes the community more negative and could drive away users.
People voting dislikes on photos or comments could be funny in some cases but hurt people's feelings in others. It's much safer just to have Like.

this is a brilliant concept and has a lot of potential. more and more we're finding technology is required to distill mountains of factoids and opinions into useful information. imagine a cross-site comment rating system.
Tthis only works if you have the plugin.. It's useless if the others doesn't have it. They will not see the dislike…
Facebook won't ever add a dislike, and if the install says invalid just try again. Slows the hell out of firefox for about two minutes then everything is A-ok. The more people that add this, the more of thier friends will add this, etc. and soon it will be just the same as FB adding a dislike button.

What if someone says “sick with swine flu” when i posted that nobody pressed “like” and all the comments i got said “dislike” and its annoying to not have both. i see what you mean, but facebook needs to start listening to what we want. if they add a dislike button and a lot of people quit facebook, then they can take it off.
what your saying is having a dislike button would hurt other peoples feelings… well u can comment on things and can a lot more rude and hurtful things in a comment than in a dislike.
